OUR STORY

KOS Magazine began as a simple idea - sharing stories of change-makers.

KOS aims to focus on the stories of how everyday people are using their quality time to positively impact their local and wider communities and create change. We think that change comes in a variety of forms and value sharing a diverse and wide range of voices on how to best implement and create change for a multitude of communities.

“When Sarah first introduced the concept of KOS to me, I couldn’t quite believe that I had found someone who was so like me in every value and vision for the future. It was like our meeting was meant to be. I hadn’t just found a business partner but more importantly, I found a sister,” Natalie said.

“Natalie believed in sharing stories of those who are driven to make a difference. It was this desire of being a voice for those who deserve to be heard that connected us two and motivated us to launch this project,” Sarah said.

KOS noun, plural (kos.)

The Norwegian definition of KOS (cosiness) goes way beyond the Danes’ “hygge”, the Americans’ “perfect moment”, or the stressed society’s “quality time”. Norway's mighty nature and distinct changes of seasons make people gather together to create intimate moments of cosiness. Ultimately, KOS aims to focus on the stories of how everyday people are using their quality time to positively impact communities and create change.

KOS covers stories about homelessness, education, poverty, sustainability, fashion, refugees, disability, climate change, LGBT+ movement, mental health and much more.
